“Do what you can, with what you have.” ~ Wendy Walker
Hi Reader,
Happy Friday friend!
I hope your week has gone well! I can’t believe we are already in the month of October. It’s my favorite time of year so I’m ready. Our weather is starting to cool down some as well. I have another soup or classic that I grew up on that I’m sharing with you this week. These old-fashioned chicken and dumplings are the perfect thing to eat on a rainy or cold evening. It’s even great for lunch leftovers.
If you missed last week‘s newsletter, I shared 5 of my favorite easy and simple soups that you can modify and have them on repeat all season long. Check your “junk” or “spam” folder to find it or just reply back to this email and I’ll send it to you.
Old-fashioned chicken and dumplings
I’ve been slowly removing chemical laden appliances, products, food, tools and gadgets from my kitchen over the past 10-15 years. It’s tough letting go of everything but every bit helps, it really does. I’m a big researcher and I have finally found small appliances, pots and pans, etc. that are free from all the junk. They are even having a HUGE SALE right now and everything is up to 60% off. Perfect timing for our Thanksgiving and Christmas meals. I’m so obsessed with this brand. Read all about the best non-toxic cookware below.

Old-Fashioned Chicken and Dumplings
This meal is a classic that I grew up on. It’s one of my favorites that I love to have in the fall and winter time.
What if you could have a dutch oven that’s 30% lighter than cast iron? Don’t get me wrong, I have a huge selection of cast iron but it’s nice to life the pot of soup and not feel quite so heavy. What about the perfect pan to make the fluffiest eggs that aren’t burnt? Hello, I’ve been there. Not anymore.
Best Non-Toxic Cookware
This is my favorite cookware now. It’s not only FREE from PFAS (forever chemicals) but so much more.

Grains - These two companies are my favorite for buying grains and freshly milled flour. The flour is ground on a Unifine mill, which retains all the nutrition due to the process of using stones. No glyphosate, non-gmo, organic clean wheat. If you are just diving in, this is a great place to start.
