“Do what you can, with what you have.” ~ Wendy Walker
Hello Reader,
How has your week been? Mine kinda flew by haha. Last week I shared about getting my Fall pumpkins for the porch. I had such a good time visiting with my annual friend Ms. Julie. Sadly, her husband Greg is not doing well. We chatted for a bit and finally decided that I’ve been coming to get my pumpkins from her since 2009. Their family truly grows the most beautiful pumpkins in Ohio.
It’s been raining here for days. There’s a hurricane that is supposed to be making it‘s landfall sometime this weekend. It’s over in the panhandle of Florida and parts of Alabama. It even looks like it’s going to rip up through Georgia and Tennessee. Stay safe and prayers that this thing would just stay out in the ocean.
I’m not a meal planner but I do love to have nutritious meals on the table with as little fuss as possible. Even though it’s just Bill and I eating at the house most nights, I still choose to spend my time not cleaning a lot of dishes lol.
I’m sharing a vintage hearty main dish I grew up on and eating for weekly suppers as a child. I think you are going to love these classic stuffed peppers. I never would eat the peppers as a kid but now I love them!
Since it’s fire season, you’ll want to have these nostalgic fall spice shortbread cookies on your counter all season long. They melt in your mouth and I used fresh-milled flour. You can use all-purpose, but…..

These adorable cookies are made with fresh-milled flour and are so buttery. Grab one or two during game night or they would be so cute for your Thanksgiving dessert table.
I love decorating my home with simple cozy decor. I love pulling my Fall things out from year to year. It’s fun to put things in new spots throughout the home to give it a fresh look.
One of my favorite things to do around our home and land is to garden. Whether it be in the flower bed in front of the house, pruning fruit trees or working in the actual garden. It’s so relaxing and it’s just so nice to get away from all the noise that life brings us.
We’ve been working on something in the garden and I can’t wait to share it with you.
If you are thinking about starting a garden, small or big, now is a great time to look into The Greenhouse. It’s designed to make gardening easier with free seeds, free shipping, and expert support. It doesn’t matter how much space you have. As long as there is some sunlight, you can grow things. Pots, beds, in ground, buckets - whatever. You can do it. It doesn’t have to be fancy. You just have to start somewhere.
