It’s a Good Friday!

Good Friday, Resurrection Sunday, Garlic Herb Knots

Little House Simple Living

“Do what you can, with what you have.” ~ Wendy Walker

Hi Reader,

Happy Good Friday Friend!

If you missed last week’s newsletter, I shared a bunch of my family’s favorites with you and I have one more that I was saving for today. Even though I included some of my yummy bread recipes, I thought you might like these Garlic Herb Knots. If you like bread and garlic, you are going to love them. They will be perfect with whatever you are having for your Easter meal. I’ll share them below along with the Easter Dinner Ideas just in case you missed last week.

I’ve got some exciting news below 👇🏻. There’s a BIG SPRING SALE going on right now!

Observance today

Good Friday is typically a day of mourning and quiet reflection with church services that may include readings of the Passion narrative, honoring the cross, and prayers. It is part of the Triduum (the three days leading to Easter). It begins the evening on Maundy Thursday (The Last Supper), the crucifixion, death and burial of Jesus. It ends in prayer on Easter Sunday. Many Christians fast or abstain from meat. The somber tone shifts to joy on Easter Sunday, when the resurrection is celebrated as the completion of the victory begun on the cross.

In essence, the “good” in Good Friday points to the profound hope and salvation that Christians see emerging from suffering: God’s love overcoming evil through Jesus’ sacrifice. It transforms a day of apparent tragedy into one of joy and redemptive purpose.

I am so thankful for a Savior that came to this earth and died for me. I seriously can’t get through my day without HIM. Today may be a sad day but Sunday is coming!

This message of joy is relevant to us today, as we face trials, uncertainties, and even despair. The resurrection reminds us that no matter how dark our circumstances may seem, there is hope and joy in Christ. Have a Good Friday and a Wonderful Easter with your family!

Easter Dinner Ideas

Here are all of my family’s favorites that we like to have on Easter Sunday. All the recipes are in one place so you don’t have to go hunting for them. Enjoy!

Garlic Herb Knots

These knots are so soft and brushed with garlic and herb butter. They will go with most meals and freeze very well.

In the Garden

SPRING SALE is happening right now for all things gardening. My favorite raised beds are up to 40% off + seeds/seed starting supplies are 25% off. You can also stack my coupon for additional savings.

I bought 18 of these beds two years ago and I absolutely love them! The beds stay clean and free from most weeds. Like, I don’t do hardly any weeding and they are great on my back (no bending over like with in-ground gardening).
