“Do what you can, with what you have.” ~ Wendy Walker
Hi Reader,
Happy Friday Friend!
August is called “The Dog Days of Summer” I think everywhere. Am I right? I know it’s probably the hottest month of the year here in Florida. To cool things off, I’m sharing my delicious Homemade Vanilla Bean Ice Cream and my Easy Homemade Chocolate Ice Cream (made with no custard).

Easy Homemade Chocolate Ice Cream
This chocolate ice cream is so easy to make and delicious. If you are a chocolate lover like me, you are going to love it!
Did you order your garlic last week? There are still varieties available. If you’ve never grown garlic, it’s so easy and such a great enhancement to your meals. Just order 1 or 2 bulbs and start out slow if you’ve never done it before. You really just “set it and forget it” for like 7-9 months.
I just planted my first set of Fall seeds. It’s still a little hot outside so I have a tray in my laundry room with starts. Since tomatoes and pumpkins take a bit to grow, I started with those first.
Isn’t it amazing how a tiny little seed pops up in just a few days and then a few months later, we have an abundance to feed our families.
My goal is to grow a bunch of tomatoes so I can make my cousin Bruno’s Sunday Sauce. I’ll keep you posted over the growing season to see how they do. I planted Roma tomatoes.
What do you have planted right now? If you are new to gardening, grab my Garden Planner below. 👇🏻
Stay tuned as I’m working on some final Summer recipes that will hopefully cool you off as well. 😎🌞😍
Cherry Cheese Pie (a healthier twist from a 1970’s classic)
I’ve got a few more recipes I’m working on!
Can’t Forget Fall 🍁
I have some yummy campfire recipes to share with you soon.
Fall officially starts September 22, 2025. All of my Fall decor will be going up Labor Day weekend because I’m ready for it! I’m so excited to slow down for Soup Season too!

Grains - These two companies are my favorite for buying grains and freshly milled flour. The flour is ground on a Unifine mill, which retains all the nutrition due to the process of using stones. No glyphosate, non-gmo, organic clean wheat. If you are just diving in, this is a great place to start.
