“Do what you can, with what you have.” ~ Wendy Walker

Hi Reader,

Happy Friday friend!

If you love apples like me, then you are going to want to dedicate some time to this week’s newsletter. It’s jammed packed with all things apples! It’s a good read. Make sure you save this one so you’ll have everything for next year. 🍎

I’m showing you how to make Applesauce and Apple Butter from scratch and how to can them both. Nothing like jars of apples sitting on your pantry shelves. I think you’ll also enjoy making a loaf of Applesauce Walnut Bread (with butter and apple butter smeared on top please!).

You will also learn how to dehydrate apple slices. They make a yummy snack! Are you going apple pickin’ this year? I’d love to know what your favorite apples are? See my favorite in one of the recipes below.

Recipes

Dehydrated Apple Slices

These are delicious anytime of year! Made with just 2 ingredients.

Homemade Applesauce

This is so easy to make and the perfect side dish or snack for everyone in the family.

Slow Cooker Apple Butter

I’m obsessed with this stuff! That’s why I jar up enough for all year long. It’s perfect to give away too!

Applesauce Walnut Bread

This bread is so fluffy and nutritious. The sweet taste of the applesauce and the crunch from the walnuts is simply delicious.

I love hitting the road in the Fall and going to some good apple orchards. Here are some pics I took from some places in Virginia I went too a few years ago.

Reflecting

In light of the passing of Charlie Kirk and as we remember the past 24 years of September 11th, this week has been pretty emotional. I have cried for people that I have never met.

As I watched the photos of Charlie’s wife and sweet little kids, I can’t imagine how life will be different for them now. I also reflected yesterday on the survivors and families that lost their loved ones in that tragic day in NYC. I seriously can’t imagine how they must still hurt this time of year.

I’m praying for our 🇺🇸 country to get back to where we love everyone, no matter what. I’m praying for all the pain and unnecessary acts of hate that needs to stop. For evil and darkness to cease. I’m praying for the beautiful girl’s family that was on that bus in North Carolina, just minding her own business and was stabbed. She never got off the bus and not one person riding said a word or did anything. Such a shame. I would’ve tried to have done something.

We all have pain and will go through things in this crazy life. We were never promised it was going to easy but we have someone we can put our faith and trust into to get us through it. I wouldn’t be here today if I didn’t rely on Jesus everyday. There’s seriously no way. It’s not that God causes bad things to happen, it’s his promise that he’ll be there when they do.

"God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble."

~ Psalm 46:1
