“Do what you can, with what you have.” ~ Wendy Walker
Hi Reader,
Happy Friday and Welcome December!
I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and do you have all your Christmas decorating done? I just put my tree up today. I know, I know. I’ve had family that thought I was “skipping Christmas” lol. We had a piece of furniture made for our living room and I have been waiting for it to arrive. I have a certain corner where we put our tree and I wanted to make sure it would fit lol. I’ll be sharing it with you soon.
Are you feeling a little nostalgic this Christmas? I’m a 70’s child so I have a lot of traditions and memories that we have created over the years. I love it and it just makes Christmastime extra special! It also allows us to slow down. I encourage you to start making some traditions of your own. The kids will remember even when they are grown and out of your home. My two are 26 and 28 and they still talk about something they did as a child. They will also ask me if we’re doing this or that this year or maybe it’s a decoration I’ve always sat out. Trust me, your kids are paying attention even if they are little right now and will love you more when they are grown.
I’m sharing my mom’s classic old-fashioned chocolate peanut butter fudge with you. It’s so simple and a great treat to have if you have an impromptu gathering or need a gift for a neighbor or co-worker.
I’m also loving this nostalgic DIY paper chain garland. I used to love making these when I was a kid. I can’t wait until our granddaughter is old enough so I can make them with her. I love tucking them in shelves, wrapped around the tree or hanging them in the doorways.
If you still haven’t put your tree up like myself 🤦🏼♀️, I can’t recommend King of Christmas enough. I am a real tree girl and I seriously love their trees. Takes 5 minutes to put them up/take down. Free Shipping, up to 65% off right now. Such a great deal and you’ll keep this tree for years to come. 🎄
My Granddaughter, Scarlett’s tree.
There’s still so many good deals going on right now! Check out the gift guide. Each link has their own individual sales going on.
What Christmas movies have you been watching? My sister and I surprised our husbands and kids with tickets to go see Chevy Chase and watch Christmas Vacation. That was right before Thanksgiving and it was hilarious. We also have been watching ”Love the Coopers” and ”Family Stone”. I love Diane Keaton and really miss her in films. Those are two good ones we enjoy watching. Of course, we love Christmas with the Kranks, Santa Claus and Elf haha.
Did you catch my Christmas music plays list I shared last week. If you missed it, here it is. I’ve been listening on repeat. So fun!
Old-Fashioned Chocolate Peanut Butter Fudge
This is a classic recipe from 1939. My mom used to make it for us back when I was a child.

Grains - These two companies are my favorite for buying grains and freshly milled flour. The flour is ground on a Unifine mill, which retains all the nutrition due to the process of using stones. No glyphosate, non-gmo, organic clean wheat. If you are just diving in, this is a great place to start.
