“Do what you can, with what you have.” ~ Wendy Walker
Hi Reader,
Happy Weekend Friend!
I’m a little behind in sending this out to you and I have good reason. I had a whim to do a last minute craft. I was finishing up my DIY Thanksgiving Garland. It’s so simple and easy to make. If you start now, the clay will be dry by Tuesday or Thursday. It would be a cute additional piece you can add to your Thanksgiving meal. I have mine hanging in my hutch with my china. Your older kids could even finish painting it while they are watching the Thanksgiving Day Parade.
If you are scrambling for a last minute dessert, your guests will love this Old-Fashioned Apple Pie. It reminds me of grandma’s. It’s made with my flaky pie dough. I shared that recipe a few weeks ago but here it is again. Go ahead and make it up (the pie dough) now and stick it in the freezer. One less thing you have to do on Thursday. While you’re at it, make 2 (one for Christmas).

This pie reminds me of grandma’s. The cinnamon and nutmeg mixed with the tart and sweet apples is perfection. Did I mention it’s made with a flaky pie crust?

Grains - These two companies are my favorite for buying grains and freshly milled flour. The flour is ground on a Unifine mill, which retains all the nutrition due to the process of using stones. No glyphosate, non-gmo, organic clean wheat. If you are just diving in, this is a great place to start.
