Little House Simple Living

“Do what you can, with what you have.” ~ Wendy Walker

Hi Reader,

Happy Thanksgiving Friend!

I’m sure you are busy in the kitchen getting ready for our big meal tomorrow. I’ve often wondered why we save one day of the year to just eat and eat and not even think twice about it lol.

I wanted to send this heartfelt Thank You out today before we all get really busy. I mean it. Thank you for following and subscribing to my blog. I started this little space in 2014 and not really knowing where it was going to go. I’m truly blessed with a wonderful community. I love getting to share my created recipes along with heirloom ones that have been passed down to me. I have a love for sharing and creating.

I am sharing with you a Gift Giving Guide to not only help you narrow your selections down but it’s a guide of practical, useful and good quality items. I think you’ll find something on it for anyone in your life. There are lots of discount codes and most of the businesses will let you stack my code. I also have another savings tip in the guide.

Why Do We Celebrate Thanksgiving Day?

Thanksgiving Day, annual national holiday in the United States and Canada celebrating the harvest and other blessings of the past year. It is observed on the fourth Thursday in Novemberin the United States and on the second Monday in October in Canada. Thanksgiving is a day when families and friends gather to express gratitude for the year’s blessings over a shared feast. The holiday has evolved from a harvest celebration to a national tradition of togetherness and thankfulness through centuries of tradition building, mythmaking, and cultural change.

I’m excited to share with you my simple living gift guide. I sought out practical, functional and great quality items for that special someone on your list. Discount codes included.

Join me as we celebrate the Christmas Advent Season

Advent starts this Sunday on November 30th and goes for 4 weeks. I’ll be sharing posts each Sunday as we celebrate Hope, Peace, Joy and Love. We will light the candles on Sundays. On Christmas Eve, we will light the 5th candle. The candle for the arrival of Christ. Sign up below.

Question: Do I need anything special to read each week?

Answer: Nope, you can use an advent book if you have one but I’ll be sharing everything each week.

Question: What kind of candles do I need? Just use whatever you have. You’ll need a total of five candles though. I’m using these taper beeswax candles.

This shouldn’t cost you anything. I just wanted to do this Bible study with others and really dive deep into the meaning of why we celebrate Christmas.

Bourbon Brined Smoked Turkey

For someone who doesn’t drink, I love the flavor of this turkey. If you are still trying to figure out how to cook yours, here is my tried and true recipe.

Coming Soon

I’ll be sharing over the next month recipes, crafts and decorating tips with you. I’m also going to be sharing how to slow down and not take on so much during the holidays.
