“Do what you can, with what you have.” ~ Wendy Walker
Hi Reader,
Good morning friend!
What a beautiful weekend it’s going to be. We are in South Carolina for a college graduation and an engagement party. As I write this week’s newsletter, I’m sitting on the front porch of our air bnb. The birdies are singing, the sun is coming up and it’s a little chilly. I’m loving this peaceful time before all the fun activities begin.
What do you have planned this weekend?
Zinnias in bloom
It’s blueberry season here in the South. I’m sharing 3 of my favorite recipes that you are going to love! I hope they will give you some inspiration! Blueberry Lemon Maple Sourdough loaf is part of my “Mix-Ins” I’ve been sharing over the past few weeks. You can grab the entire guide down below👇🏻in the “Subscribers Library”. I’ve been making these Homemade Blueberry Muffins for years. They are perfect for breakfast or even a snack. Your kids and family will love them.
Don’t forget about mom next Sunday. She will love this Lemon Blueberry Cake. It has the perfect amount of lemon and blueberries. I mean, who doesn’t love the tartness of these two. It has a lemon butter cream cheese frosting. I made this the other night and well, we all devoured it haha.

Blueberry Lemon Maple Sourdough Loaf
The flavors of the blueberries, lemon and maple syrup are simply amazing. It’s such a simple loaf to make. Serve a slice with breakfast or anytime of the day.
I’ve been so busy lately with all the blueberries, I don’t have a new post about gardening this week. However, HERE is where you can find a local farm near you if you want to go pick blueberries this year. We are always 1-2 months ahead of the states north of us so now is a good time to prepare.
My garden is in full swing though. I shared my onion harvest with you last week. I should be picking zuchinni and squashes soon. Tomatoes and green beans are still growing. The cantaloupe and watermelon are just starting to pop up. The sunflowers and zinnias are everywhere as well as bees and butterflies are zipping around. It’s a beautiful time of year.

Grains - These two companies are my favorite for buying grains and freshly milled flour. The flour is ground on a Unifine mill, which retains all the nutrition due to the process of using stones. No glyphosate, non-gmo, organic clean wheat. If you are just diving in, this is a great place to start.
